Excerpt: The Preponderance of Evidence - Stephen

It was his smile which began my conscious evolution from sleep this morning, and six-sensing again the sweet and gentle nature of his person, I could almost hear his voice - a mixture of languid preoccupation and smoky invite - speaking of yet another adventure for us to undertake.
Lucidity followed my groggy awakening and the sadness filled my heart again, a nagging reminder that his smile was no longer physical, but held only in my heart and mind. Yet, I could almost feel his warm hand on my arm, and hear his throaty laugh next to my ear, as he acknowledged my love and friendship.
